THE LAST SHOWGIRL

Despite the dress code stating ‘Cinema Chic’, there was no way my mind, body or soul could attend the first screening of The Last Showgirl in London without a major nod to the Vegas Showgirl.

As with most premieres, I was invited less than a week before the event & got to work immediately on organising an outfit.

I wanted a corset to be the centre piece, & starting looking around for one that felt the most fitting. Internet searching (with a cup of tea beside me) led me to the Agent Provocateur Izzi corset. This embellished sequin number screamed historic Vegas to me and despite there being only one left in stock and not in my size, I would MAKE.IT.WORK.

Although the corset was the centre piece, I knew I wanted the full look to scream more-is-more – with elements that almost clashed. The main colour in the corset is silver, so I set my next task on finding a silver ‘something’ that made for a fitting silhouette against the corset.

Enter Retrofete’s Cressida skirt: with a mega thigh spilt & in a metallic silver gunmetal pleated fabric, this felt it would give a match-y (but not too match-y) nod to the silver of the corset. I also knew this would be an item to slot well into my wardrobe – it likely goes without saying that I never want to purchase a garment I can only see myself in once.

Coming back to the ‘more-is-more’ concept – hi, hi zebra print.

A Vegas showgirl in the depths of British winter naturally needs some faux-fur. I (surprisingly) didn’t own anything like this oversized faux-fur number and having had this Attico coat in my MyTheresa wish-list for some time, I listened to this sign from the universe me & added to cart.

The Last Showgirl is a beautiful cinematic triumph.

Filmed in only 18 days with a small cast and crew, it has a deeply independent & intimate feel. With loveable & memorable characters, it’s an emotional joy to watch with moments of humour & a focus on human relationships & interactions. I loved it, and the icing on cake (or cherry on top if you prefer) was chatting with Pamela briefly afterwards.

Huge thanks to Charnley Communications for the invite.

DRESSING MYSELF

Holey moley, happy 2025.

It’s a great time for a fresh start, to motivate one’s self, and set intentions.

Without going into it too deeply here, last year was the toughest year I’ve ever experienced.

There are a number of things that I spoke about on TikTok – but not all things I could. I did open up in ways I never have before. Quite honestly, some of the events that happened were simply too big & all-consuming for me not to. I’d not been in that situation [regarding opening up so much online] until my mum passed right at the end of 2023 – I felt at a crossroads: say nothing, knowing my demeanor would be off & this could be commented on, or address the situation, in a way that felt natural to me.

Over the last last 3 weeks I’ve started to feel a wave of positivity & calmness that had certainly been missing over the last 6 months. I’ve been so incredibly thankful, for you [the team] & your support in my content last year – it truly meant more than ever.

Looking back at last year is hard. So taking the emotion out of it, I wanted to post some of my looks & focus on this aspect of the year: dressing myself to make myself happy, essentially.

I appreciate I just typed out ‘taking the emotion out of it’ but something I can’t help but feel looking at Beetlejuice Premiere photos is how difficult it was to attend this.

The insane & deep joy I felt when that invite came in was so emotional, in the best way. Custom latex plans with Atsuko Kudo, planning my nails with Pria & organising accessories, a photographer, and all the logistics of an event this major…

It was 6 days before the Premiere that I lost one of the closest people to me. Taco, our much loved cat, also passed away 2 days before. I desperately didn’t want to let anyone down. I listened to my gut & felt I should still attend – I did almost have a panic attack before going on the carpet & had to hold back many tears. So: truly, one of my favourite looks of the year – but certainly one that stirs up some emotions.

That Prada skirt has to be one of my ultimate Prada purchases.

I love the plaid, the oversized safety pin, how it feels so edgy-90’s-Clueless. This is never the sort of outfit the algorithms care so much for, but definitely one of my personal fav day-to-day looks & a structure I often go for. Me + a bodysuit, best buds.

Not to mention, the ultimate green Bambu Birkin 25. A pre-loved number that is approx 9 years old, I lovingly named her Nettie [IYKYK]. Definitely in the ‘best purchases of the year’ list.

Just looking at this photo makes me cold.

Deeply hard to imagine not wearing 2749 layers tbh. Those Fendi trousers…how I adore thee. They are insanely comfortable & the psychedelic white Fendi logo against that bright yellow hue is just immense.

This is a typical weekend look for me – high waisted, check, denim, check, summer hat, check. With layers of jewellery ofc.

It’s all about finding silhouettes that make you feel YOU – and this outfit does that for me.

Oh, the Wicked Premiere.

I’ll feel forever honoured I was loaned this Jenny Packham dress from the brand. I know a lot of creators are constantly loaned pieces; but this isn’t the case for me. This is gonna sound woe-is-me [but it really isn’t, my gratitude is astronomical] but usually I am just told no when it comes to fashion loans. Tattoos, not being so clean cut – it doesn’t tend to work in my favour [hence I don’t go to fashion weeks].

The most incredibly detailed dress with thousands of embellishments, with an attached ethereal cape.

I loved the juxtaposition of it on me & it felt incredibly special to wear.

Those heart jeans still give me heart eyes.

Despite it not being as much of a constant in my wardrobe in comparison to how it is for some, I do love denim. I especially love it when it’s been cut in an unexpected way.

Bubblegum pink latex will always bring a smile to my face & I do enjoy latex being almost ‘toned down’ for more casual looks. More of that this year, for sure.

I really can’t thank you enough for your support last year, and I wish you all the absolute best for 2025:

onwards & upwards,

RECENTLY

It’s been a moment since I added a post filled with some recent looks, items I’ve been loving, and items I’m coveting…So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Oh, the Hermes Birkin.

After many years of it being the ultimate wish-list bag, I purchased mine pre-loved via Break Archive around two years ago. I’m not into the Hermes-game life.

It remains one of my absolute hero items (thank goodness with that price tag) for many reasons. It’s roomy, useable, beautifully made & just a joy to hold. It’s timeless. I’m certainly in the ‘Jane Birkin’ way of using the bag – I prefer it with casual outfits, with slouch & grainy leather. Mine is a 30 in Black Togo Leather with Palladium hardware. It’s a great autumn-winter/forever & ever number.

SHOP THE BAG:

I’ve been drawn back to black (shocking) as the days get darker.

I mean, ofc I’m always drawn to black, but I’ve been loving it paired with burgundy & denim recently.

This dress from last year layers so well & is so versatile. The jersey is super drape-y & comfortable. I added a hoodie layer here & upped the structure with that major Saint Laurent leather.

SHOP THE LOOK & SIMILAR ITEMS:

Gimme an excellent band tee any day of the week.

Paper-thin vintage will forever be my treasure, but I recently spied this Nick Cave tee & THIS NIN sweatshirt: add.to.cart. They’ve [H&M/whomever working there that got these over the line] actually done a solid on both items, with distressing to the Nick Cave tee collar & more of a marbled, not-quite-midnight-black for an added vintage-esque feel. Can’t recommend the Nine Inch Nails sweatshirt enough too btw – I bought two in the end, it’s THAT good.

SHOP THE LOOK & SIMILAR ITEMS:

Items in my current wish-list include a Birkin 25 in Bambou. Casual. This has been on my wish-list for years, and was the Hermes Birkin I thought I would go for even before black. I consider this, and am likely the only person in the world to say this, my Type-O-Green-Birkin. Ah, my worlds colliding. Currently updating Depop to fulfil this desire.

I’ve recently discovered the jewellery brand Luna Skye – another female run independent – I swear, it’s like they find me as well as me finding them. The Diamond Bubble Initials on chain is right up there…and this Coiled Snake? Obsessed.

Beauty wise, it’s time for a top-up of Noir 29 from Le Labo. With bergamot, fig & cedar wood, it is perfection for this time of year. I’m proudly working with Cult Beauty this month, with my selects here that can get you 25% off until Nov 22nd. The code SAMMICB will also get you 20% off most other items. Whilst I’m on beauty, I must shout-out to these new favs: the Byoma Lip Mask: I’ve been applying this every night just before bed & it’s absolutely divine for maintaining soft & supple lips. A new-in fav is this Pat McGrath palette – the pigment & colours are just unreal.

Extra note-able mentions of a few covetable items [some with codes atm]:

Vivienne Westwood Bea Cardigan: 25% off with code SAVE25

Norma Kamali Red Turtleneck Dress: currently 30% off

Rebecca Vallance Elsie Dress: currently 30% off

Wolford Leopard Tights

SWEET TOOTH

It’s been a true joy to work on this.

I have been a fan of Roxanne First for years, having bought my first piece around six years ago. This collaboration has just been organic & beautiful. RF are an independent, female founded & run jewellery brand based in London. I have a real passion for independent jewellery brands. I love the craftsmanship & dedication that goes into making jewellery and adore that pieces can last a lifetime.

I feel there are feelings, meanings & connections we can put into jewellery, & that jewellery can naturally carry. I wear the wedding rings of my parents everyday & they have such meaning to me. Equally, I may purchase a piece of jewellery to symbolise something monumental…It’s also just so ridiculously beautiful & I’m an absolute magpie for it.

Rocky & I began serious work on this in May of this year, & after settling on the concept of donuts, the fun really began. Cue 6,484* voice notes, 7,459* messages to get this ready to launch.

From the incredible attention to detail on the pieces themselves (may I add, they have a delightful weight to them) to the excellent donut-box packaging (complete with film & donut-sugar-paper wrapping)…it’s been so fulfilling seeing this come together. Each item comes in an iconic RF velvet heart shaped box, wrapped inside the sugar-paper & inside the SWEET TOOTH donut box. Each order also ships with ST donut sticker packs (feat. Gary ofc, who I got tattooed on me at the event – we like dedication over here).

We launched the collection this week on October 23rd with an event in store, complete with mountains of donuts ofc. The limited collection is online & ready to shop now, with worldwide shipping. Each piece is lovingly made to order & will be available to order until November 21st.

Stand-outs for me are the Rainbow Sprinkle Ring & Raspberry Glazed Donut Pendant: although admittedly it’s a tough call.

SWEET TOOTH

The sweetest & most indulgent limited jewellery collaboration.

Ignited by a craving for confectionary & a passion for fine jewellery. Indulgent white & yellow gold takes the place of dough & enamel the frosting, whilst diamonds & sapphires form a blanket of colourful ‘100’s & 1000’s’ sprinkles:

made for jewellery & treat lovers alike

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE PREMIERE

This is the most excited I have been about a movie in years.

Granted, there’s been films I have enjoyed over the past few years – but a new Beetlejuice is another level. As an avid fan of the original, I squealed with absolute joy when the invite came from Warner Bros to attend the BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE premiere in London. The first time an invite has ever come direct from a picture-house to me – and with a plus one, to bring along the BFF? A big deal, and one I am hugely thankful for.

Within minutes, I had reached out to Atsuko Kudo, hair stylists, photographers, my closest friends. Red carpets can be daunting, especially when you are arranging everything yourself – everything from my look, to how I am going to get there & safely home, is actioned by myself.

Atsuko Kudo made my dress. An independent London based & female run brand, they make the most beautiful latex couture. The AK team were as amazing as ever, and following back & forth on emails, phone calls & voice notes: we got to the vision I had in my had.

For this premiere: it just HAD to be latex.

The dress was completely custom made: with a white silhouette trim to the tulip bust, ‘v’ shaping detail and puff sleeves. For drama and to create the major silhouette that I was seeking, we added a long black train: this was tied around my waist (see the full GRWM). Over the train, we added a black & white striped corset (waspie) – giving that necessary nod to the icon himself (Beetlejuice, need I say?) & cinching in the waist further.

Ridiculously grateful this all came together: I’ll let the images do the rest.

GOODWOOD BREAKFAST CLUB

We’ve been attending the Goodwood Breakfast Club for a couple of years now.

A car event that occurs at Goodwood a few times a year; starting bright & early at 7am. On the days the sun graces us with it’s presence, it’s the most delightful way to start a Sunday. With plenty of food trucks selling coffee, doughnuts & breakfast treats, you can stroll around at your leisure viewing beautiful cars with a hot drink in hand.

It likely goes without saying that I need very little excuse to dress up: you’re saying it’s on a Sunday, there’s classic cars, plus it isn’t due to downpour? Ok, I’m in.

I paired a reproduction 1940’s Western-denim set with a 40’s reproduction shirt – all made exactly to 1940’s patterns. The shirt features light padded shoulders, a revere collar, fitted silhouette & puff sleeves. Both the denim set & shirt are handmade by incredible female run brands [items listed below]

I’ve always adored Western attire, but especially from the 40’s-50’s – the silhouettes, ways in which colour is used & shapes just do something for me. I added a little repro arrow-boot brooch to the vest [always obsessed with details] giving a nod to Bakelite accessories from the 40’s era.

To compliment the matte red lip, I added a red bandana [that’s actually a McClaren collab – fitting for a car event] tying the red elements together. I added vintage turquoise jewellery [these pieces have been in my collection for years, most from road trips in America] & a turquoise studded belt to further amplify the Western-esque nod.

SHOP THE LOOK:

The two-tone patent cowboy boots I wore – after a last minute switch – are now on mega-sale at MyTheresa. Use code MYEXTRA20 [you may need to be signed into/create an account on MyTheresa for this code to work] to grab an extra 20% off – just saw this as I went to grab the link, I clearly missed out. I bought these a couple of weeks ago & was delighted to discover they didn’t need any breaking in – that stirrup hardware detail is just immense & against the patent…ugh, pleases me greatly.

We also filmed a fam GRWM – as well as Anton giving a Camaro car tour. This was a big deal for him to do; as he’s not exactly always up for making/being in my videos, but man, can you seeee how much his face lights up talking about the car? Loved editing this. It’s been far less…isolating? shall we say – making videos with the ability to have my family involved sometimes.

WAITING ON THE SUN

Summer is fast approaching – it would appear England didn’t quite get the memo.

May brought us some days of golden, unexpected rays which now seem to have truly departed. I had a short stay in Las Vegas for Sick New World which meant I experienced some absolutely delightful temperatures [although, still managed to be exposed to rain] & this meant the much-welcomed opportunity for outfits that didn’t involve 36208 layers. There’s a Vegas catch-up vlog on my teeny-tiny YouTube for those interested in longer-form content.

In anticipation of more sunny days to come, this blog post is dedicated to some delightful lust-worthy sunshine pieces, alongside recent outfit images & details of looks of my own. Off to manifest sun.

PEACHY KEEN

It has truly felt like the longest winter of all time.

Last week – for the first time since September – my legs were able to leave the house without tights. This, I call a breakthrough. I adore the seasons & they each have their own charms and allure, but when winter-weather drags into April; i.am.over.it.

As someone that loves to spend time digging through the ‘new in’ pages on various sites, I admittedly hadn’t been feeling too inspired by the latest drops & collections. With events, shoots and a trip to Las Vegas coming up [anyone going to SNW?!] I was seeking a couple of inspiring new pieces to add into my wardrobe. The first ‘add to cart’ recently was this puff-ball, not-for-everyone PVC bustier top. I love pieces I can immediately imagine styling in different ways, and this got me feeling excited to style.

Shape, structure & texture are aspects I can easily [and often] obsess over.

The sharpness of the point on the peach collar, layered over the contrasting bustier PVC neckline, deeply pleases my soul.

EYE SPY: a new harness. We sampled this particular style last year – but it didn’t end up going into production over thoughts it may be too similar to HWH. After months of my lusting after it and then re-sampling it in black patent, I can confirm she will be made & I am THRILLED: launching this summer.

NAIL VIDEO

OUTFIT VIDEO OF THIS LOOK

CURRENTLY

It’s currently snowing outside. I’m layered up in a vintage band tee [OG 80’s paper thin Misfits, iykyk] with a cup of tea & lip balm by my side. It’s been a heavy few weeks. Unlike my usual self, who can usually throw themselves into work, I’ve been struggling to get back in the zone off the back of it all.

In anticipation of my love of outfits never being too far away, I thought I’d put together some categories of items I’ve been loving & look forward to wearing more of early this year.

METALLICS

Undoubtedly a category I often return to, this was kick-started again recently by a] attending The Crown Premiere in which I opted for mis-matched silver hues [see below + view the GRWM here] b] the rather cheeky purchase of the Chanel Silver mini flag with star coin [did my usual one-in-one-out handbag situ to ease the pain]

DENIM

I’ve been reaching for denim more as of late than I have in some time – unusually, I also have a few denim pieces on my wish-list. I have spent a lot of autumn-winter thus far in all black outfits, but the last couple of weeks I’ve been adding in pops of colour; and I love this combined with denim. An interesting cut or detail on a pair of jeans is how denim can often lure me in.

The AREA claw jeans were an absolute solid September purchase I’ve been loving.

COLOURFUL JEWELLERY & ACCESSORIES

Nothing new to see here tbh.

My Missoma Squiggle hoops need no introduction – I still absolutely adore these and reach for them often. They add such a perfect neon pop.

Bag accessories, charms, bracelet stacks – I’m here for all of it.
