We’ve been attending the Goodwood Breakfast Club for a couple of years now.
A car event that occurs at Goodwood a few times a year; starting bright & early at 7am. On the days the sun graces us with it’s presence, it’s the most delightful way to start a Sunday. With plenty of food trucks selling coffee, doughnuts & breakfast treats, you can stroll around at your leisure viewing beautiful cars with a hot drink in hand.
It likely goes without saying that I need very little excuse to dress up: you’re saying it’s on a Sunday, there’s classic cars, plus it isn’t due to downpour? Ok, I’m in.
I paired a reproduction 1940’s Western-denim set with a 40’s reproduction shirt – all made exactly to 1940’s patterns. The shirt features light padded shoulders, a revere collar, fitted silhouette & puff sleeves. Both the denim set & shirt are handmade by incredible female run brands [items listed below]
I’ve always adored Western attire, but especially from the 40’s-50’s – the silhouettes, ways in which colour is used & shapes just do something for me. I added a little repro arrow-boot brooch to the vest [always obsessed with details] giving a nod to Bakelite accessories from the 40’s era.
To compliment the matte red lip, I added a red bandana [that’s actually a McClaren collab – fitting for a car event] tying the red elements together. I added vintage turquoise jewellery [these pieces have been in my collection for years, most from road trips in America] & a turquoise studded belt to further amplify the Western-esque nod.
SHOP THE LOOK:
The two-tone patent cowboy boots I wore – after a last minute switch – are now on mega-sale at MyTheresa. Use code MYEXTRA20 [you may need to be signed into/create an account on MyTheresa for this code to work] to grab an extra 20% off – just saw this as I went to grab the link, I clearly missed out. I bought these a couple of weeks ago & was delighted to discover they didn’t need any breaking in – that stirrup hardware detail is just immense & against the patent…ugh, pleases me greatly.
We also filmed a fam GRWM – as well as Anton giving a Camaro car tour. This was a big deal for him to do; as he’s not exactly always up for making/being in my videos, but man, can you seeee how much his face lights up talking about the car? Loved editing this. It’s been far less…isolating? shall we say – making videos with the ability to have my family involved sometimes.
