Paired with a relatively new in blazer, & that faithful & Other Stories coat: this is def a look I’ll be repeating over the coming months w/ various layers.
There was something v.peaceful about the heavy rain last weekend. Granted, it’s a pain, & I never exactly wish for it, but with no real social plans & a weekend filled with time with my family [& coffee] it was actually…kinda nice.
Cool enough for my fav coat, but not too cool for a cropped sweater: this, guys…is my kinda autumn weather.
I’m not incredibly seasonal when it comes to bags, apart from, say – I wouldn’t really use a wicker or straw bag in winter – ha. However, there’s something about velvet, textures, and black & gold this time of year – also a big fan of backpacks, as it gets into I-have-to-hold-an-umbrella-every-bloody-day kinda territory.
There are so many knit variations, I gotta break ’em down. In this section, I’ve picked pieces that I feel are easy to layer – so if the temperature drops, you can easily layer up with a vest/shirt/turtleneck etc, but atm – keep it simple & wear it solo.
One of those #allblackeverything moments: they’re pretty common in my life tbh.
Love the simplicity & casual nature of these track pants paired w/ Gucci platform sneakers & a cropped shirt or tee. They’re super high waist, with zipped pockets & functional zipper on the bottom in that true 90’s style…love it.
For dressing, especially. However. You know it – I am another one of those girls that obsesses over the change in colours, leaves falling, crisp mornings…and, of course – Hallowe’en. Obvs.
I tend to reach for the same array of items every Sept/Oct – & whilst I love to invest in new pieces, I wear the same items from years ago – or style them in new ways. I love to ‘upgrade’ a piece I’ve been loving, too. Example: first time I bought a loafer it wasn’t the Gucci one. I kinda road tested a TopShop loafer, to see how much I wore that style…then saved up for the real deal…that kinda thing. I digress…
Let’s get into some key pieces. Part I:
KILLER BOOT
Pretty much my go-to all year, but esp. Sept-Jan. For me, imperative features include: being super comfortable, warm & versatile. A snake embossed on the back is an added bonus.
Nothing says autumn like checks & plaid: nothing. A mini skirt you can go tight-less with rn, and then add tights + long socks to as the chill creeps in. Love it with a chunky boot.
*pls don’t take these posts as ‘OMG I-need-to-go-and-buy-22813-things’, but more – how can I use what I have? Do I need or really want a new coat? Which, say, two items should I invest in? Etc, etc. Ly, bye*
Grab a coat, light layers & your fav boots – autumn is in the post. AKA: my fav time of year for dressing.
I have this & Other Stories coat in black, from last year, and it’s honestly become one of my most versatile + used items. I was after the camel version due to my love affair w/ the black, but it sold out before I got my hands on it…Fortunately I spied it again this season – thus I snapped it up – sharp.
A simple varsity style sweater, fav jeans, CK boots and yes – you know it, the new Dior Saddle bag – this is a look I’ll be replicating multiple times this season.
